MICROHOME 2024

The project is animated by the idea of creating a self-sufficient "cell", designed to promote the aggregation and growth of the communities that live there.

The new colonies are designed to settle on the flat roofs of existing tertiary buildings, urban structures with established routines and considerable untapped potential.

This strategy allows land consumption to be minimized while extending the life cycle of the host buildings.

The project is driven by the idea of creating a cell capable of aggregating and giving life to a small self-sustaining community.

In this perspective, modular construction forms the basis for a modular and composable system to form an urban block or block completed by outdoor spaces where agriculture supports the life of the new community and acts as a stage for its social life.

The scene of these new settlements will be the flat and unused roofs of tertiary buildings, urban voids with great potential and little use.

The micro-houses will be built using a modular dry construction system, with materials from a sustainable supply chain. The image of the buildings will be characterized by the presence of a pitched roof that on the one hand optimizes the collection and recycling of rainwater, on the other allows for maximum use of solar energy.
